The Grand Rapids Thunderhawk gymnastics team recently competed in the Princeton Invite on Saturday afternoon.

The Thunderhawks finished fifth overall in the Invitational with a score of 129.40 points. Perham won the 13 team event with a score of 143.105. Coon Rapids was second followed by Rush City-Pine City and Sauk Rapids-Rice came in fourth ahead of Grand Rapids.

Danni Villeneuve finished the all-around competition with a score of 32.95 while Whitney Detjen came in with a score of 32.55 followed by Shelli Wick at 31.95.

On the floor, Detjen was the top Thunderhawk performer with a score of 8.4. Wick finished with a score of 8.1 Kelsey Demianiuk finished with a score of 7.95. Villeneuve finished with a score of 7.85 on the floor and Megan Fowler recorded a score of 6.1.

Demianiuk was the top gymnast for Grand Rapids on the beam with a score of 8.1. Villeneuve and Callie Schneider recorded scores of 7.7 on beam. Detjen earned a score of 7.5 and Wick finished at 7.3.

Villeneuve was the top Thunderhawk on the bars with a score of 8.55 while Wick finished with a score of 8.05. Detjen finished with a 7.9 followed by Schneider at 7.5 and Demianiuk at 6.0.

Villeneuve finished with the top score on vault for Grand Rapids at 8.85 while Detjen recorded a score of 8.65. Wick finished at 8.5 and Schneider came in at 8.3. Taylor Maasch finished with a score of 7.5.

The Thunderhawks are back in action on Thursday, Jan. 24 with the Grand Rapids Invite at the Northern Pike Gymnastics Center at 5 p.m.
