For the second time in just over a week, the Grove Lady Red easily dispatched their county rivals from Jay, this time by a 12-1 decision.

Once again slugging third baseman Taylor Dodson led the way, going three-for-three with a home run, a triple and four RBIs on the day.

Dodsonís solo home run to left field with two outs in the bottom of the first would give Grove the early 1-0 lead.

But it was in the second inning that the Lady Red would break out, scoring seven runs in the frame and taking control of the game for good.

After Megan Freeman led off the inning with a walk and Kaitlin Threet followed by reaching on an error, Morgan Knox hit a single to right field that plated both runners and gave Grove a 3-0 lead. Mason Jeffries and Ashleigh Tramel followed with a single and a walk to load the bases for Dodson, who promptly blasted the ball to left centerfield to clear the bases and make it 6-0.

Katie Stout and Threet would follow with RBI doubles later in the inning to up the lead to 8-0.

The Lady Red would add four more runs in the third inning and the game would end by run rule after the top of the fifth inning.

Gregorye Epperson went the distance in the circle for Grove, allowing just two hits, two walks and a single run in the fifth inning.

In addition to Dodsonís four RBIs, Stout, and Knox would each finish with two RBIs a piece.

The Lady Red will next be in action on Thursday when they travel to Hilldale before spending the weekend at the Sand Springs Tournament.
