The Grove Tennis team was on the road for their final meet of the regular season.

Grove competed at Regent Preparatory Academy in Tulsa. The meet was broken up into two days, with the Lady Red playing on Tuesday, April 23, and the Ridgerunners playing in Wednesday, April 24.

Grove finished in second at the meet, battling difficult teams throughout the tournament. The host team, Regent Prep, would ultimately win the tournament.

• 1 Singles - Whitney Rutherford defeated Wagoner, but fell to Oologah and Ada, placing fourth.

• 2 Singles - Bailey Pittman defeated Wagoner, lost to Ada and topped Oologah to place third.

• 1 Doubles - Eliza Downing and Takoma Tanner beat Rejoice Christian, Ada and home team, Regent Prep, to win their bracket.

• 2 Doubles - Erica Elder and Abby Kreutz bested Wagoner and Ada, but fell to Regent Prep in the finals to place second.

The Lady Red Tennis team wrapped the year with five first place finishes, two seconds and a third. The team will play post season at the Regional Tournament at LaFortune Park in Tulsa on Monday, April 29.


Grove dominated the field, enabling the team to easily take home another win.

• 1 Singles - Kenny Wright defeated Rejoice Christian, Wagoner and Regent Prep to win his bracket.

• 2 Singles - Silas Rosier beat Rejoice Christian, Wagoner and Oologah to win his bracket.

• 1 Doubles - Mason Allen and Braden Wadley bested Rejoice Christian, Wagoner and Oologah to win their bracket.

• 2 Doubles - Collin Rowton and Lincoln Wright defeated Rejoice Christian and Wagoner, but fell to Regent Prep in the finals, placing second.

The Ridgerunner complete the regular season with six first place wins and two second place finishes. The team will play again on Monday, May 6 at the Regional Tournament at Philcrest Tennis Club in Tulsa.
