Grove track and field competed at the Collinsville Invitational on Friday, April 19.

The meet included freshmen teams as well as high school teams. The freshman boys team finished the meet with the highest overall placement coming in third of five with 126 points. Both the high school boys and the high school girls finished in fourth, scoring 84 and 83 points respectively. The freshman girls team finished in sixth with eight points.

Freshman Girls

Kaylee Shepherd was the lone representative for the Lady Red, competing in the pole vault. Shepherd cleared 7-6 to place second.

Freshman Boys

100 meter dash - Derek Loomis placed eleventh, running a 14.44. Ty Davis placed fourteenth with a time of 16.63.

200 meter dash - Triton Chandler won the event, finishing in just 24.84. Loomis placed tenth with a time of 28.93. In fifteenth was Davis, who ran a 33.21.

110 meter hurdles - Carter McCarthy won the event with a time of 18.56.

200 meter hurdles - McCarthy finished in third, running a 48.76.

The Ridgerunners won both the 4 x 100 meter relay and the 4 x 200 meter relays, running a 48.84 and a 1:42.14. Grove finished in second in the 4 x 400 meter relay with a time of 3:54.33.

High Jump - Eli Threlkeld won the event, clearing 5-4.

Pole Vault - Austin Lucky won the event, clearing 10 feet. Jaydon Hill placed second with a jump of 9 feet.

Shot Put - Avin Fitzgibbon finished in second with a distance of 39-04.5.

Discus - Fitzgibbon placed second in this event, throwing a 135-6.

High School Girls

100 meter dash - Anastasia Pace placed ninth with a time of 14.57. Rosa Sharrock finished in thirteenth, running a 15.20. Valarie Riley placed fourteenth, finishing in 15.44. Saidee Merrill placed eighteenth with a time of 16.60.

200 meter dash - Rory Geer placed fourth with a time of 28.79. Sade Monfort finished in fourteenth, running a 30.59. Pace placed eighteenth, finishing at 31.26. Emma Pospisil placed twenty-second with a time of 34.16.

400 meter dash - Riley finished in ninth with a time of 1:12.21.

800 meter run - Kayle Bearpaw placed fourth, running a 2:44.75.

1600 meter run Katelyn Cohea won the event with a time of 6:06.36.

100 meter hurdles - Pace won the event, running a 16.74.

The Lady Red won both the 4 x 400 meter relay and the 4 x 800 meter relay, with times of 4:24.78 and 10:35.49.

Pole Vault - Hannah Dozier finished in third, clearing 9-6.

Shot Put - Deirjaye Davis placed second, throwing a 36-1.

Discus - Ashley Edwards finished in sixth with a distance of 90-09.

High School Boys

100 meter dash - Derek Hardy placed fourteenth, running a 13.45. Austin George finished in sixteenth with a time of 13.81. Collin Vang placed nineteenth in 14.57.

200 meter dash - Vang placed twentieth, running a 29.35.

400 meter dash - Kadian Forbis finished in fourth with a time of 55.40.

800 meter run - Joel Martin placed third, running a 2:12.62. Dakota Rickey finished in sixth with a time of 2:20.42.

1600 meter run - Josh Jessup placed fourth, running a 5:04.68. Rickey finished in fifth, who ran a 5:11.15.

3200 meter run - Dalton Davis placed seventh in the event with a time of 13:10.07.

110 meter hurdles - Greg McCurdy finished in third, running an 18.78.

300 meter hurdles - Caleb Haidsiak placed second with a time of 43.85. McCurdy finished in seventh, running a 45.85. Mason Baxter placed eighth, finishing at 46.21.

Grove placed fourth in both the 4 x 100 meter relay and the 4 x 400 meter relay, finishing with the respective times of 46.42 and 3:41.31. The Ridgerunners won the 4 x 800 meter relay with a time of 8:51.74.

Pole Vault - Kai Sarwinski placed second, clearing 12-6. Anthony Lucky finished in fourth, jumping 12 feet.

Long Jump - Hardy finished in fifth with a distance of 17-04.

Shot Put - Josh Wright placed fifth, throwing a 39-05.5.

Discus - Wright finished in sixth with a distance of 114-07.

The track and field teams will compete again on Friday, April 26, in Coweta at the Metro Conference Track Meet.
