Irene Marland Smith, 86, of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, died July 23, 2010, at the Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital, in Siloam Springs. 

Born, November 11, 1923 in Colcord, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Joe I. Blagg and Mina M. Mitchell.  Irene worked for 35 years in the poultry industry before retiring from Peterson’s Industries.  She was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church in Colcord, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; a stillborn son; three brothers, Bill Blagg, Marion Blagg and Arlis Blagg; six sisters, Georgia Hatfield, Edna Porter, Martha Allen, Evadean Allen, Roxie Kirby, and Ruth Blagg.

Survivors include one son, Garry Joe Smith and wife, Donna of Colcord, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Kimberly Smith, Marcy Hendren, Roy Don Smith and wife Dana, Lacey Jones and husband, Seth; five great-grandchildren, Tyrone Davis, John Hendren, Bret Gifford and wife Ashleigh, Brent Gifford, Cale Jones; and one great-great grandchild, Oakleigh Gifford.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at the Wasson Memorial Chapel in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. 

Visitation will be from 6 – 8 p.m., Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at the Wasson Funeral Home.
