Carol Lee Sumpter, 59, of Colcord, Oklahoma, died December 1, 2009, a Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Born November 17, 1950, in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Delbert Morgan and Aileen Davis Morgan. She was a lifetime resident of Colcord. Carol was a reading recovery teacher at Allen Elementary since 1991 and formerly taught at Gentry School for almost 15 years. She was a former member of the ADK and loved quilting. Carol was a member of the Colcord Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jim Sumpter and her parents, Delbert and Aileen Morgan.

Survivors include one son, Greg Morgan and wife Penny of Ralston, Oklahoma; one daughter, Lora Sumpter of Colcord, Oklahoma; one step-son, Jimmie Sumpter and wife Danielle of Hamlin, Texas; nine grandchildren; one brother, Danny Morgan of Sandusky, Oklahoma; and one sister, Wanda Ramsey and husband David of Colcord, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Morgan, Jesse Ramsey, Chris Tillery, Will Arnold, Hank Jenks, and Scott Billups. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Pittman and Darell Whitmire.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, December 5, 009, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Silaom Springs, Arkansas, with Mr. Larry Ellis officiating. Burial will follow at Dickson Cemetery, near Cherokee City, Arkansas. Visitation will be 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., Friday, December 4, 2009, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
