Longtime Miami resident Mrs. Ina Mae Parker passed from this life on July 19, 2010 in Commerce, Oklahoma at the age of 93 years.
Ina Mae was born in Heber Springs, Arkansas to her parents Lloyda and Ular O. McIntosh on January 5, 1917. Ina was married to Mr. W.H. “Hobart” Parker on July 12, 1934 in Miami, Oklahoma. She and her late husband Hobart have made Miami their home for over 76 years. Ina loved to quilt and toll paint. If it had a surface Ina could paint on it. Many beautiful and cherished treasures she has made.
Ina was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She has taught Sunday School from the nursery to the senior adult class for over 73 years. She has held many titles and served in many different capacities in the church. Ina loved her Savior. Truly Heaven’s Gates were open wide on Monday morning welcoming Ina in.
Although she is no longer with us, her memory and Godly legacy will be kept alive through the family and friends she leaves behind which include: 3 Sons: Larry G. and deceased wife Joyce Ann Parker of River Ridge, LA, Don W. and wife Nancy Parker of Miami, Oklahoma, Gary N. Parker of Joplin, MO, 1 Daughter-in-law: Regina Parker of Eugene, OR, 14 grandchildren and 21 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild. Ina is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband: W.H. “Hobart” Parker, 3 Sisters, 1 Son: Jim Dale Parker and 1 Grandson: Steven G. Parker.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday July 22, 2010 at Immanuel Baptist Church with Pastor Ed Pope officiating. Interment will follow at Glen Abbey Cemetery.
