Michael John Parsons “Mike” of Jay, Oklahoma passed away suddenly at his home.  He was 54.

Mike was born June 3, 1956 to Mike J. and Gladys (Harmon) Parsons, at Barberton, Ohio.  He has lived in the area for over 30 years.  Mike owned Green Country Landscaping, and most recently he became very talented at woodworking.  He was self-taught and occasionally calling on Bill Koch for tips.  It was a fine art to him.  Mike poured many hours and personal feelings into the designing and finishing of his bowls and vases.  Many of his pieces looked like marble and fine pottery.   He enjoyed traveling along with his close friend Mary Ryan to the Arts and Craft Shows, a large following of his collectors were from all across the nation.  Many of his pieces were made from wood that were given from his client’s home sites.  Mike was also a very talented bowler and ended the 2010 season in 1st place in mixed doubles.

Mike was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include, his Mother Gladys Parsons; three daughters, Vanessa Duggan, and husband Robert of Washington, Melissa Murphy and husband Mathew of West Virginia, and Patricia Parsons, of Washington; two sisters, Carol Doyle of Texas, and Brenda Delagrange of Ohio; along with five grandchildren and his close friend Mary Ryan.
