Carolyn Jane Nuckolls, who served the Grove community tirelessly during her lifetime, died peacefully on December 13th, 2009 at her residence in Grove with her family by her side.
She was born on July 8th, 1937 in Henryetta, OK.
Her parents were LeVona and C.W. Webster.
In 1952 Carolyn and her family moved to Grove, where they quickly became a prominent family in the community.
From a young age, Carolyn learned from her mother, Lavona, the importance of being active in her community and working with others to make Grove a better place to live.
In part, because of their tireless efforts, Grove is the wonderful community that it is today.
As an adult, like Lavona, Carolyn dedicated a great deal of her time to the community of Grove. She spent countless hours supporting her community, and among other endeavors, she held the position of mayor from February, 2004 to April, 2007.
She dedicated 18 years of service to the Grove City Council, Grove Municipal Services Authority, and Grove Industrial Development Authority.
She was actively involved with the Grove School System and spent many hours volunteering her time and talents when her children were in school.
It was Carolyn's caring attitude and infectious sense of humor that made her loved by the community as a whole, and she will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her community involvements, Carolyn was a full time and devoted mother and grandmother. Her most guarded devotion and deepest love was for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and closest friends.
Her life was dedicated to raising her children to a life of responsibility and success in whatever endeavor each chose to pursue. She was their best friend, their biggest fan and their closest confidant.
The children of Carolyn will deeply miss but fondly remember every day of lifethey were afforded to spend with their beloved mother.
