Dinner with an Oriental flare will highlight an evening of music and fun Saturday, June 6, at Lendonwood Gardens’ annual fundraiser benefiting the botanical garden.

With a theme of “Lotus Entertain You,” the evening starts at 5:30 p.m. and is open to the public. Tickets are $30 per person and are available by calling Lendonwood at 786-2938.

A silent auction will offer a wide range of goods and services for bidding. Auction items include jewelry, art work, carvings, gardening design services, dinner parties, catered meals, cooking lessons, floral design lessons, scrapbooking assistance, genealogy help, and photo memories on a CD/DVD with background music.

The Oriental dinner will be served by Auntie Em’s Catering, and musical entertainment will be provided by “Jade” — Dan Johnson, a deejay for the Moose Lodge.

Reservations are needed by June 1 in order to plan for food; checks may be mailed to Lendonwood Gardens, P.O. Box 450542, Grove, OK 74345. Tickets can be paid for at the gate, only if reservations have been made earlier by phone.

Lendonwood Gardens is a public botanical garden supported by volunteers and contributions. The garden is open to the public year-round, from dawn to dusk. Botanical highlights include large collections of azaleas, rhododendrons, daylilies, hostas, peonies, Japanese maples, dogwoods, and many other plants and trees.

Located on Har-Ber Road, Lendonwood has become a popular site for weddings, prom and graduation photos and other special events. In addition, the garden is home to the Angel of Hope statue, which stands as a memorial to lost loved ones, especially children.
