GROVE – The amount of sales tax dropped while the use tax distribution jumped  in June for the city of Grove.

Sales tax collected from May 16th to May 31st and estimates sales from June 1st to June 15th on the city’s 3.4 percent sales tax resulted in a $515,075.31 distribution from the state in that time period, a decrease from $531,525.51 the city received in May through June of last year. Grove’s city use tax rose from $27,995.72 to $35,225.34

Countywide, Delaware County saw a decrease in the monthly distribution, according to the figures published in a monthly report released from the Oklahoma Tax Commission. The county’s .9 percent sales tax netted a monthly distribution of $196,641.74 compared to $211,311.12 received by the county for the same period last year.

The monthly distribution of sales tax collections by the Oklahoma Tax Commissioner primarily represents local tax receipts reported.

Monies received by cities and counties from sales tax help fund capital improvements.

This June, the state distributed $113,420,838 in sales tax collections to 505 cities and towns. That amount was an increase of $3,174,567 from the $110,246,271 distributed to 505 cities and towns in June last year.

A use tax collected on outside sales resulted in a June disbursement of $7,883,042 shared by 367 cities and towns.

In county returns, 74 counties shared in a $24,299,507 sales tax disbursement. A use tax disbursement of $1,541,275 was distributed between 70 counties.

Disney (3.875%) - $6,702.25 up from $5,998.34; $385.23 up from $322.79

Fairland (3%) - $17,973.81 up from $16,375.20; $1,144.27 down from $1,749.73
