WEST SILOAM SPRINGS, OK – A stolen vehicle report has landed a West Siloam Springs couple in jail with over 40 charges filed against them in Delaware County District Court.
Jerry Wayne Stegall Jr., 40 and his girlfriend, Tamara Sue Dunn, 38, were arrested by West Siloam Springs police officers on December 6 at the Cherokee Casino after officers recovered a vehicle reported stolen by Harvey Tincher, also of West Siloam Springs.
The couple is facing charges of possession of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, unauthorized use of a debit/credit card, possession of controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possessing a firearm after a previous conviction or during probation.
According to reports filed in district court, Tincher reported his vehicle stolen by his roommates along with a credit card belonging to him on December 5.
Officers located the vehicle in the Cherokee Casino parking lot with the suspects inside. The couple was taken into custody and during an impound search of the automobile, the credit card was recovered. The search also produced a gun safe in the trunk and boxes of jewelry in the passenger door panel.
During an interview with the couple, they admitted to having drugs in the Tincher home where they had been residing. A search by drug enforcement officers produced baggies containing a substance that field tested positive for methamphetamines and items used for drug use.
Bank statements from the Tincher account revealed 42 unauthorized transactions at the Cherokee Casino amounting to $5,294.64. Transactions were also made at the Siloam Springs, AR Wal-Mart bringing the total amount unauthorized to approximately $10,000 from the account.
The couple remains incarcerated in lieu of a $16,000 bond. They will return to district court on Dec. 21 for announcement at 9:30 a.m.
