JAY — A Craig County sheriff's deputy is on paid administrative leave after being charged with destroying property.
Justin Dean Sumner, 29, of Ketchum was charged March 5 in Delaware County District Court in Jay with two felony counts of maliciously defacing the property of another.
He is accused of shooting out the lights on the Arrowhead Yacht Club sign and shooting and damaging a power transformer belonging to Rural Electric Cooperative on Jan. 27.
Total damages were about $3,530, according to an arrest affidavit.
According to the affidavit, a security guard told police Sumner was seen shooting out two lights.
Sumner was arrested March 6 and released on $6,000 bail.
