A Grove woman was killed Saturday afternoon and a man was injured in a motorcycle accident south of Jay in Delaware County, according to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP).

Dorothy Reece, 61, was transported to Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, AR where she died from injuries she sustained when the motorcycle she was riding on failed to negotiate a curve and ran off the road.

The driver of the motorcycle, Billy Crook, 60, of Gentry, AR was also transported to Washington Regional Medical Center by Airevac and was admitted with head and internal and external trunk injuries. He was listed in poor condition, according to the OHP report.

The accident happened on U.S. 59 one and a half miles south of Jay at 1:45 p.m.

According to OHP the motorcycle failed to negotiate a curve and left the roadway on the right side, rolling one-quarter time before coming to rest.

An unrelated accident on the same day later in the afternoon on U.S. 59 north of Grove, injured four people, according to a report by the OHP.

Daniel Darby, 58, of Tulsa, was admitted to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa with arm, leg, and internal and external trunk injuries, where he was listed in fair condition.

Passengers in his vehicle, including Elizabeth Darby, 51, of Tulsa, John Gaydos, 73 of Leesburg, FL, and Bernice Gaydos, 73, of Leesburg, FL, were treated and released at Integris Grove Hospital.

According to the report, the accident happened when a vehicle driven by Dennis Cook, 28, of Miami rear-ended the Darby vehicle as it was attempting to turn left into a private drive.

The Darby vehicle overturned one-quarter time before coming to rest.
