GROVE Ė An Afton man police stopped for driving with an expired tag was arrested for drunken driving, according to Grove Police Chief Mark Morris.
Brentely Carl Roberts, 45, of Afton was arrested Sunday on complaints of driving under the influence, no insurance and for an expired tag. He failed a field sobriety test and was taken to the Grove Police Station where he refused to take a breath alcohol test.
Roberts confessed he had about five or six beers at the Pelican Bar and then reminded the officer he had seen him earlier when police responded to a medical call at the bar, the police report states. During the medical call, Roberts approached police saying he could take the man home they were attending to. When Roberts was asked if he had been drinking, he told police he had been drinking three or four beers. Police declined Roberts offer and told him that he didnít need to be driving, the report states.
In other police activity, Jackie A. Rush, 36, of Grove, was arrested Thursday on outstanding warrants for hot checks, according to a police report.
