JAY - State Senator Michael Bergstrom, his wife Robin and Oklahoma Senate President Pro Tempore Greg Treat traveled throughout Bergstrom’s district in the waning days before the primary.
It was Wednesday, June 24, when the Bergstroms and Treat visited and the trio had been out since 8:30 a.m. visiting in Afton, Miami, Vinita, Bergstrom's hometown of Adair and finally Jay, meeting with business and community leaders.
L & L Outdoor played host to their visit to Jay, after receiving a call that morning that the Senators would be stopping by in the afternoon.
Laramy O Leary, owner, said “that was the first I’d heard they were coming.”
O Leary gave them a tour of the store, letting them know that business has been brisk and beyond their predictions and business plan.
Both Senators were impressed by the facility and quality of product that was available at L & L.
Treat has been traveling throughout Oklahoma to help his Republican Senators in their re-election bids.
Treat said having Bergstrom in the Senate “has been great for Oklahoma and for Bergstrom’s district” because he can be counted to be 100% prolife, outspoken for the Second Amendment, fiscally conservative and strong for education.
Bergstrom was first elected to the State Senate in 2016 in a land slide, his first elected office. Currently, he serves on the Public Safety Committee and is instrumental in promoting the tourist industry in Oklahoma.
Bergstrom has been challenged by James Fuser.
