GROVE - Independence Day is just around the corner and Har-Ber Village Museum has just the things to keep your little ones busy.

The Fourth of July Celebration at Har-Ber Village will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 4. The event will feature a children's parade, local bluegrass band David Bridges and the Message and games.

Games to be played at the museum are ring toss, coin toss, sack races, beanbag toss, egg races and croquet.

Two food trucks, The Local and The Pink Flamingo, will be on hand for American style food and shaved Italian ice from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Picnic Pavilion.

Schedule of Events

9-11:50 a.m. Decorate your bike or wagon. Children are encouraged to bring personal bikes and wagons to decorate.

10 a.m. Gather at the flagpole

10:30 a.m. American Legion Ritual Team will perform a gun salute and TAPS

11 a.m. Ron Young Sings the National Anthem in the gazebo

12 p.m. Children's Bike & Wagon Parade, David Bridges and the Message Bluegrass Band play in the Gazebo, picnic style lunch time and games begin

2 p.m. Farewell

About Har-Ber Village Museum

Har-Ber Village Museum is open 5 days each week, Thursday through Monday, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; closed Tuesday and Wednesday.

The pioneer-era village and antique collections, complete with Visitor Center, The Country Store gift shop, Nature Trail, Mining Company, Picnic Pavilion, and Event Tent (available for rent for special occasions) allow visitors to experience the area’s history and ecology as well as view collections of antiques and memorabilia.

Museum admission is adults $10; Seniors $7.50; ages 6-13 $5; under 6 and members free.

No admission fee is required to walk the Nature Trail (open dawn to dusk daily), shop the Country Store, or eat at the Café.

The Café at Har-Ber Village serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays. The Café can be reached at 918-314-9566
