JAY - The City of Jay, Oklahoma continues producing out great Bulldog wrestlers and Jay 6th grader Armando Newcomb is another example of an outstanding wrestler.

In fact, Newcomb was chosen as one of four Outstanding Wrestlers, out of 1300 wrestlers, in the U.S. Junior Open Championship.

Newcomb won the Oklahoma State Championship in the 140 lbs. weight class and was invited to compete in the World Championship in Las Vegas. The Championship is now postponed due to the COVID-19 virus outbreak.

Though not technically in the Jay Junior High School as a 6th grader, Newcomb was also able wrestle in the Junior High State Championship for 6th and 7th grade, where he came in 2nd.

Newcomb is so appreciative of the time the Bulldog coaches have invested in him and wants to “thank Izack Wilson, Matt Wacker and legend Jeff Stapleton” for their coaching.
