OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Micheal Bergstrom, R-Adair, recently presented a legislative citation to Jerry Coach for his outstanding volunteer service to children in Ottawa County and the surrounding areas.

The Miami native founded the Santa Claus Program when he was only seven years old, which donates toys to children who may not have a Christmas. The program is now in its 40th year and has gifted toys to more than 30,000 children in Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri.

“I’m proud of the work Jerry has done to ensure all children in our area experience the joy of Christmas,” Bergstrom said. “Jerry will be remembered for his generous spirit and giving nature, so it is only fitting that the State of Oklahoma recognizes him for his dedication and outstanding volunteer service.”
