GROVE - The Lady Red bested the 5A Collinsville Lady Cardinals on Tuesday, February 4.

The Lady Red's initial meeting with Collinsville also resulted in a win or Grove, but with a less disparaging score, 56-29. The win improves Grove record to 12-3, putting them in the eleventh-ranked spot in 4A with just five games left in the regular season.

The Lady Red started the game with their best quarter, racking up 23 points, ten on which came from junior Rory Geer, and holding the Lady Cardinals to just four points, a single two pointer and two from the line.

The second quarter Grove let up on the gas just a little, but still Geer scored another eight, matched by Megan Gibbs and Kolby Boyett, who added four apiece. Collinsville could not get shots to drop, only making a total of three baskets in the quarter. At the half, the score stood 39-10.

The Lady Red resumed the game at a breakneck speed, scoring 22 points across six players. Geer, Boyett and Mikalle Pair each had five, all three hitting a two pointer and a three pointer during the quarter. The Lady Cardinals were held almost scoreless, with a single two point basket falling during the allotted time.

The fourth quarter saw the entirety of Grove's team hit the floor with the substitutions of sophomores Kaylee Shepherd and Emily Blaine. The team would still put up eleven more points, while holding Collinsville to seven to seal the deal.

Geer led the Lady Red's scoring with 23 points, followed by Boyett with 11, Gibbs with 9, Dawn Blake and Pair both had 8, Anna Bacon with 5, Elizabeth Cash with 4 and Baylee Gregg and Shepherd both had 2.

Collinsville's scoring was led by Abbey Stamper with 4, Addison Wickman and Jolie Cole both had 3, Makayla Meadows, Segen Henley, Brooklynn Farley and Lexi Gregory each had 2 and Carley White had 1.

The Lady Red will be back in action playing host to Skiatook on Friday, February 7 at 6 p.m.
