The Kansas Lady Comets hosted the Inola Lady Horns in the Dome on a cold and rainy January 17, but that didn’t suppress the Lady Comets’ energy.

In a very physical and fast-paced game, the Lady Comets were able to best the Lady Horns 54 to 44, at game’s end.
The refs let the ladies play, though sometimes it looked more like tackle football than basketball, with one Lady Horn taking a hard knock to her head as she fell to the floor.
Kansas had four players in double digits with Lainie Payton the high scorer with 17 points, followed by Kyleigh Ortiz adding 15 points, all in free throws, except one 3-pointer.
J’Lynne Bryant put up 12 points, all coming from 3-point shots in the first two periods and Fallyn Tarin dropped in 10 points.
The Lady Comets were given 30 free throw attempts by the Lady Horns and they made 20 of them, shooting 67%, while Inola was allowed only 14 free throws.
The Lady Comets were able to score first and kept the pressure up as the first period ended Kansas 13, Inola 11; second period Kansas 30, Inola 23; third period Kansas was 37 and Inola 27.
Kansas was able to extend their lead to 10 points in period three and were able maintain their lead to win the game with their 10 point lead.
The Lady Comets will meet the Westville Lady Yellowjackets at home for a non-conference game on January 21.
The last time they met, the Lady Comets bested the Lady Jackets 58 -39.
