John Jeremiah Stogsdill, age 37, of Grove Oklahoma, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 5, 2020.

John attended Grove and Jay Schools, graduating from Jay in 2001. He married his sweetheart, Cassandra Sharp, in 2002 in Grove. Joining the United States Marines Corp in 2002, John served his country in Operation Enduring Freedom in Iraq.

Upon return, John worked for Crossland Const., operating equipment in the locally. He went on to work his way into the pipeline industry as trackhoe operator, for WHC, Sunland and Williams-Welding. Most recently, he was promoted to Assistant Superintendent for Wyatt Pipeline Const. Co. & Eagle Inspection and Consulting from Aztec, New Mexico.

John was a God-fearing husband, father and man and member of the Cornerstone Church of Grove. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying LOUD guns, fireworks, big machinery, and family outings, which were many. John touched many lives, from local friends to his pipeline family, with his faith in Jesus Christ our Lord.

John was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Dean Stogsdill, maternal grandmother Beulah Baldridge, grandfather, Charlie Saylor, uncle, Don Saylor, and aunt, Charlotte Miller and great grandmother, Gladys(mom) Killion.

John is survived by his wife Cassandra Stogsdill, children Alexis and Christian, both of the home. Parents, Gary and Tresandra Stogsdill of Grove, sister, Chassidy Creel and CJ, nephews CJ, Dyllan, and Noah of Thornton Colorado and sister, Ashley Janssen, JW Williams and  Kenzlee Grace, of Grove. Mother-in-law, Tilitha Sharp, & Gary Sloan. Papa, Martin Sharp of Jay and many other loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers: Jeremy Mitiler, Terry Toth, Dave Smith, Justin Simpson, Nasser Mitwalli, Taylor Mcbane, & Christian Nicholas Stogsdill.

Honorary pallbearers: Chad Williamson, Heavy Taylor, Kenneth Washington, Donald Whetstone, and all of John’s pipeliner FAMILY and many United States Marine Corps buddies. Semper Fi.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, January 9 at Nichols Stephens Funeral Service.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, January 10th, 2020, at First Baptist Church, with Pastor John Burnham officiating. Burial will be at the Zena cemetery, South of Grove.
