Area rivals Jay’s Lady Bulldogs met Grove’s Lady Ridgerunners in the Bulldog Arena on Tuesday, December 10.

Lady Red never stopped running once they hit the hardwood, as they defeated the Lady Bulldogs 84 – 23 and averaged 21 points each period.

Both teams played straight up basketball as evidenced by few fouls on either side where Jay had 10 fouls all night and Grove had seven for the total game.

The Lady Ridgerunner center Kolby Boyett was the tallest player on the court as she dominated under the basket, snagging rebound after rebound.

Lady Bulldogs’ Alexis Farley was the team leader in points with seven and Marsis Foreman had six.

Shanae Lawrence made three of her four free throws and Layken Kirby nailed two-for-two with her free throws.

The Lady Bulldogs are a young team who didn’t lose heart as they fought to the end of the game and that attitude will pay dividends as they move through the season.

With new Coach Denton, they continue to perfect their offense and defense under her tutelage.

Jay will travel to Miami to play the Lady Wardogs on December 17, then play the Kansas Lady Comets again, this time at home, after beating the Lady Comets on their court in November.
