With the cooling of temperatures come the indoor sports.

Grove's wrestling program has a history of sending individuals to the State Tournament and on Saturday, November 23, fans can get their first glimpse of the 2019-2020 team. The team will be hosting an exhibition and bake sale from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m.

This exhibition will include the high school team, middle school team and the Grove Takedown Club. Entry to the event is free, but the team is asking that towels or granola bars be donated in lieu of admission fees. Both towels and granola bars can be used throughout the season.

The teams are also asking for donated baked goods to sell at the exhibition. Baked goods can be donated until 9 a.m. on Saturday at the High School or until 4 p.m. at First National Bank in Grove with Amy Turney or Natasha Arnall.

In addition to the baked goods being sold, there will be breakfast casserole, biscuits and gravy and breakfast burritos for sale. 2019 is the second year for the exhibition and the previous year raised $1,000 for the team via the bake sale.

The high school team has two returning state-qualifiers, Jaydale Whitlock and Gage Gates. Both athletes are juniors and had an impressive showing at the State Tournament. Whitlock, who wrestled in the 113 lbs. division, ended the season with 34-8 individual record and finished second at state. Gates, who wrestled in the 138 division, finished the season with a 30-18 individual record and won one match at state before falling to the eventual champion and again to the third place winner.

The exhibition will be in the Grove High School gym on Saturday, November 23 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
