This is the fifth year for Salon Envy to do "Christmas for Kids".
Christmas for Kids was started to help the underprivileged children in Grove, Jay and Turkey Ford. Debi Weaver of Salon Envy says that the first step to Christmas for Kids is to collect the names of local children who do not get Christmas. The second step is to put their names on a tree for someone to select and to purchase two outfits and a toy for that child. The third step is to deliver the presents.
"We enjoy helping the children in the area have a good Christmas," said Weaver. "We couldn't be able to bless as many children as we do without the help of our amazing clients, friends and others in the area that donate clothes and toys to the kids."
In 2018 the salon was able to provide 89 children with two outfits each and at least one toy. They were also able to provide five families with food baskets. This year, the salon has partnered with Nuance Interior Designs and aims to help 100 to 150 children and have already collected more than 100 outfits and a few riding toys.
Fo those interested in donating, gifts need to be at the salon no later than Tuesday, December 10 in order to be delivered to the children.
Those interested in helping should visit Salon Envy, located at 2520 S. Main in Grove or call the salon at 918-787-7771 or Nuance Interior Designs at 918-787-2500.
