The theme for Winterset 2019 was Mardi Gras and the event exuded the feel of the Big Easy as the community came together to raise money for a great cause.

Around $104,000 was raised for the Delaware County Children's Special Advocacy Network, or DCCSAN. DCCSAN is a team of child abuse professionals who interview, investigate and prosecute child abuse cases. Winterset allows the team to continue doing the work that they have begun.

More than 2,700 children have been aided by DCCSAN since 1994. 178 of those cases were from 2019. Of the 2019 cases, 70 of those were sexual cases. The age ranges for the 2019 cases are as follows: 69 cases 0-6 years of age, 67 cases 7-12 years of age and 42 cases 13-18 years of age.

Emcees State Representative Josh West and Johnnie Earp the president of Grand Savings Bank in Jay kept the event rolling and the laughs coming as they entertained the crowd with their banter. The event featured a silent auction as well as a live auction. The live auction featured items from Red Agnus beef to front row seats at the upcoming Reba McEntire concert.
