Citizens of Delaware County have nominated another Hometown Hero, or heroes in this case.

For their efforts during the May tornadoes, Jay coaches Jeff Stapleton, Warren Kirk, Izack Wilson, Camerson Smith and Butch Willis were honored before the Bulldogs game against Berryhill on Friday, November 1.

"We truly believe that Jay is an unstoppable community and [these coaches] actions proved it," said Vanessa Morrison with Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home. "The theme for this school year is 'Bulldog Life'. These coaches exemplify that phrase. They work diligently to mold the children of Jay to not only be better students and better athletes, but also better citizens."

The coaches were presented with a certificate of appreciation, and Bulldog Life sports jackets.

"To the community of Jay, we know you will continue to be unstoppable," said Morrison.

If you known someone you'd like to see honored as a Hometown Hero, nomination forms can be picked up at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home.
