Joyce Marie Pridgeon age 81 of Coffeyville passed from this life on October 25, 2019 at Windsor Place.
Joyce was born on April 25, 1938 in rural Nowata County Oklahoma to Elmer Wayne Sr and Doreatha Lucille (Collins) Moon. The family made their home in Chanute where Joyce attended school. Following her education she met Ivy “John” Perry and the couple were united in marriage in 1953, they later divorced but not before being blessed with three sons. Joyce later met Louis “Pete” Pridgeon and they were joined in marriage in 1983. They made their home in Bartlesville where Pete founded the Physical Therapy department at Jane Phillips Medical Center. In addition to being a homemaker and devoted mother Joyce found employment at Funk’s Manufacturing, Coffeyville Country Club, and later with Pete at the Physical Therapy office. After Joyce and Pete retired, they moved to Grove, Oklahoma. Joyce was a member of the Eastern Star and a member of the Grove and Coffeyville’s Methodist Church. She was a master quilter, a talented artist, and she loved being out in the flower beds and vegetable garden. Joyce was the glue that held the family together, she loved her family fiercely.
Joyce’s memories will live on with her son John Perry his wife Marilynn, daughter-in-law Suzy Perry, brothers; Elmer “Wayne” Moon Jr his wife Linda and Edward Moon, sister Jewel Hunt, grandchildren; Kyle, Randy, Anna, Jana, Brett, Andrew, John, and Trevor, and nine great-grandchildren.
She now rests with her parents, husband Pete and sons; Joe Perry and James Perry, sisters; Margie Montgomery-Hull and Juanita Moon.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 1, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, friends are invited to sign the register and greet the family prior to the service from 1 p.m. to service time.
