Shangri-La Resort’s third annual “Community Fall Festival” is scheduled for Saturday evening, October 26 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. on wooded resort property immediately north of Grand Lake Regional Airport on Monkey Island. The festival is a community-wide event open to the public. Concessions will be available, but there is no admission charge to the family fun event.
Festivities include something for attendees of all ages including bounce house fun and “trunk or treating” adventures for kids, a Halloween costume contest, a giant bonfire, live music from “Wanda Watson,” and a spooky hayride adventure through the Shangri-La woods.
S’mores kits will be available for those wanting to take full advantage of the bonfire, along with popcorn, cotton candy, hot dogs & chili dogs, Frito chili pies, caramel apples, candy bars, soda & bottled water, hot chocolate – and wine & beer for the “older” kids in the crowd!
“It’s just an entire evening of outdoor family fun for the entire community,” said Shangri-La Director of Communications Mike Williams. “We are so appreciative of the incredible support shown for Shangri-La on a continuing basis, and this is an opportunity for us to give something back to expand the family atmosphere of activities around the resort, Monkey Island, and the entire Grand Lake community. It’s an evening of entertainment for every age group – and a chance to celebrate the Halloween season in style. I hope everybody can come enjoy the evening’s festivities,” he said.
This is the third year for the event which drew hundreds of holiday fun-lovers from throughout the Grand Lake area last year.
