The Grove cross country teams have wrapped up the Metro Lakes Conference Meet.

The meet was held on Tuesday, October 15 at the Rogers State University campus in Pryor, Oklahoma. Grove had teams in three divisions, and three athletes who competed in the varsity girls division.

Junior High Girls

The junior high girls team competed against 60 other runners in the two mile race and placed fourth overall with a score of 102 points. Tahlequah won the meet with 51 points, followed by Coweta (60), Collinsville (75), Glenpool (104), Pryor (118) and Claremore (183).

Mya Pellegrino led the Lady Red with a time of 14:15.87 to place fourth. Rowan Geer was hot on Pellegrino's heels, placing sixth with a time of 14:30.96. In sixteenth was Maggie Lane running a 15:27.34. Haley Iliff (17:46.66) and Lily Reeves (17.53.88) placed 41 and 42 respectively.

Junior High Boys

The junior high boys team competed against 81 other runners in the two mile race, finishing in sixth overall with 124 points. Tahlequah won the meet with 29 points, followed by Glenpool (68), Coweta (75), Claremore (114), Collinsville (119) and Pryor (189).

Jaxon Turner and Jase McAbee led the Ridgerunners, placing 16 and 17 with times of 13:07.16 and 13:19.92, respectively. In 24 was Lane Stewart with a time of 13:56.98. Chris Johnson (14:43.56), Dakota Morgan (14:46.58) and Landon Snyder (14:57.82) finished closely in 40, 41 and 44. Isaiah Iliff finished in 51 with a time of 15:40.42. In 83 was Ethan Morgan, running a time of 21:06.28.

Varsity Girls

The three Grove athletes competed against 80 other runners in the 5K race.

Rory Geer finished in sixth overall with a time of 22:23.28. Katelyn Cohea placed 27 with a time of 25:07.41. In 33 was Jazzmine Aguire running a 25:55.31.

Varsity Boys

The varsity boys team took on a field of 122 runners in the 5K race. Grove placed sixth overall with 160 points. Tahlequah won the meet with 27 points, followed by Claremore (65), Collinsville (91), Coweta (121), Glenpool (130), Pryor (178) and Skiatook (199).

Leading the Ridgerunners was Jackson Kernan who ran an 18:33.29 to place fifth. Ryan McAbee finished in 27 with a time of 20:19.41. Dakota Rickey placed 44 with a 21:21.33. In 68 was Nick Brown running a 22:44.22. Dalton Davis ran a 23:10.97 to finish in 75. Caden Love crossed the finish line at the 26:01.50 mark to place 110.

The cross country teams now await the 5A Regional Assignments from the OSSAA.
