Howard T. Hill

1934 ~ 2019

On September 19, 2019, we said “goodbye” to Howard Hill. Howard was born in Riverton, Nebraska on November 20, 1934, to Ted and Mary Hill. He spent his childhood in Nebraska. On his 17th birthday, Howard joined the U.S. Navy and was stationed in California. He served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars, he was a Recruiter in Walla Walla, Washington, and retired on May 5th, 1975 after attaining the rank of Chief Engineman.

Howard met and married the love of his life, Bonnie M. Weber, on March 7th, 1953 in San Diego, California. They raised four sons (two whom were adopted).

After retiring from the Navy, Howard built homes in Missouri, cared for his mother in Idaho, worked security at the Anchorage airport in Alaska, and drove trucks in Tulsa, Oklahoma, retiring again in 1991 after an accident. He settled in Grove, Oklahoma in 2001, serving ten years on the Grove Ritual Team of the American Legion, helping to bury veterans from the area. He also enjoyed boating, fishing and spending time with his family. He was a lifetime member of Disable American Veterans, as well as a long-time member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.

Howard is preceded in death by his parents and siblings. He is survived by his Wife and four sons, Don Hill and wife Kathleen of Grove, Oklahoma; Doug Hill and wife Becky of Fountain, Colorado; Larry Hill of Grove, Oklahoma; Ron Hill of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; along with nieces, nephews and cousins.
