The Annual Fall Art Festival sponsored by The Grove Springs Cultural District is scheduled for Saturday, October 19, 2019.

“We have set the third Saturday in October as the annual date for the Art Festival,” said Peggy Weaver, coordinator. “We encourage artists from the Grand Lake area to participate.”

The Grove Springs Cultural District began in 2017 with partial funding from The Oklahoma Arts Council’s Cultural District Initiative.

“We have been fortunate to receive funding from the OAC for three years,” said Suzanne Boles, one of the volunteers who helped undertake the development of the district. “We sponsor at least one event that highlights the artists in our area each year as well as assisting with other organizations’ art fairs. We try to educate area residents about various art projects that they might be willing to pursue, such as the Barn Quilt Project. We are now working on ways to build a deeper understanding within community agencies of the ways to unearth and support creative individuals that can contribute to positive community outcomes.”

The Council welcomes volunteers who would like to help the creative life of our community grow as well as expand the Annual Art Festival. “We are not short on great ideas,” added Mrs. Boles. We just need more people willing to help the development of the arts in Grove.
