The Northeast Oklahoma A&M College Board of Regents is initiating a Presidential Selection Process for Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College. Part of that process includes participation from the Grove community with regard to representation on the Search Committee.
So what will the Search Committee do? The Search Committee will recommend to the Board of Regents a Position Description statement and a Qualifications statement for the President of Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College, will seek candidates through the solicitation of nominations, will screen the pool of applicants, and will forward up to six unranked names to the Board of Regents to be considered for the Presidency of Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College.
The Outline of Procedures indicates that the composition of the Search Committee will include two Community representatives. These two individuals will be selected from nominations received from the Grove Area Chamber of Commerce and the Miami Regional Chamber of Commerce. The Grove Area Chamber of Commerce is requested to submit the names of two Community representatives for consideration. Would you be interested in serving - or know someone who would? If so, please let us know. The deadline for submission of nominations to the Grove Area Chamber of Commerce is Wednesday, August 14th. Nominees must complete, sign, and return a form (available from the Grove Area Chamber of Commerce) verifying that the individual is willing to serve on the Search Committee. Additionally, a brief biographical sketch for each individual nominated is required for consideration.
The Chamber, in turn, will review nominations and select two (2) to be submitted to NEO A&M's Steering Committee on or before August 23, 2019. The Steering Committee will review all of the nominations for the Search Committee - to include the two to be submitted by the Grove Area Chamber of Commerce - and recommend to the Board of Regents which individuals will ultimately be appointed to the Search Committee. It is expected that the selection of individuals to comprise the Search Committee should be known on August 27, 2019.
Search Committee members will be contacted about their availability, but it is likely that the first meeting of the Search Committee will be held on the afternoon of September 18, 2019, on the NEO campus. A subcommittee of the Search Committee will be required to meet before that time to formulate recommendations regarding the Position Description statement and the Qualifications statement.
On behalf of the Chamber and our community, your interest and willingness to serve is very much appreciated. We look forward to receiving the nominations. Should you need additional information, please contact us at the Grove Area Chamber of Commerce at (918) 786-9079.
