The Grove Fury has returned from the USSSA State Tournament as runner ups in the 7 & under class A coach-pitch.

The opening round of play on Friday, June 21, pitted the Fury against the OK Royals. The Fury earned a shutout win, the final score being 11-0.

On June 22, Grove had two games, against the Bx 7U Hawks and the BA Tigersharks. The first game resulted in the first tournament loss for Grove, who fell 14-10. The Fury bounced back to win 10-2 against the Tigersharks.

Tournament play resumed on Tuesday, June 25. The Fury played three games in one day. The first game of the day was against the OK Vipers. Grove bested the Vipers 12-4 and continued on to face the Vinita Mad Dawgs. The Fury topped the Mad Dawgs, winning 16-8. The win put the Fury into the finals.

In the finals, Grove faced the Bx 7U Hawks again. The high scoring game eked out 31 points in total, but ended in a 16-15 win for the Hawks, making the Fury the runner up in the tournament.

The team will compete in the Global World Series in Bixby, Oklahoma beginning on Friday, July 12.
