The Ridgerunner tennis team has won all four categories at the Regional Tournament.
Grove bested the field at the Regional Tournament held at Philcrest Tennis Club in Tulsa. The Ridgerunners were pitted against Metro Christian, Beggs, Nowata, Okmulgee, Perry, Rejoice Christian, Summit Christian, Victory Christian and Wagoner.
1 Singles - Kenny Wright won the bracket, defeating Beggs 1,2 in the finals.
2 Singles - Silas Rosiere won, defeating Perry 2,2 in the finals.
1 Doubles - Mason Allen and Braden Wadley won the bracket, defeating Metro Christian 0,0 in the finals.
2 Doubles - Collin Rowton and Lincoln Wright won, defeating Rejoice Christian 4,1 in the finals.
The team has a credible shot at winning the title, according to Grove’s Head Tennis Coach Todd Kerr.
During the 2018 State Tournament Grove placed second, with twenty-two points, falling only to Ada who won with thirty-four points. Hadley competed in 1 Singles, finished in fourth. In the 2 Singles spot, was Rowton, who finished in sixth. Both the 1 Doubles team of Allen and Wright and the 2 Doubles team of Rosiere and Jeff Crawford fall in the championship to Ada.
The teams will all compete at the State Tournament on Friday and Saturday, May 10-11, in Oklahoma City.
