Grove's varsity girls tennis team has placed at the State Tournament.
The Lady Red are caught in a three way tie with Oklahoma Christian School and Pauls Valley, each school having nine points.
Grove had six athletes competing, one in each event, but only three would place.
Lauren Chaney was the 1 Singles representative for Grove. Chaney played in the opening rounds of the tournament, but would not make it into medal play.
Bailey Pittman would place sixth overall, losing in the consolation match to Oklahoma Christian School's Katy Koch. Pittman struggled in the first set, losing 6-2, but would rebound in the second, only falling 7-6.
The previously undefeated duo of Eliza Downing and Takoma Tanner would finish in seventh, defeating Emma Bowers and Sarah Strellers of Oklahoma Christian School. Downing and Tanner were evenly matched in the first set, only winning 6-4 and then pulling away in the second, winning 6-2.
The 2 Doubles team of Erica Elder and Abby Kreutz would place the highest, earning fifth place with a win over Michelle Nguyen and Emma Dowell of Clinton. Elder and Kreutz easily won the first set, but Clinton made it difficult in the second, with the Lady Red winning 7-6.
