The Kansas Comets meet the Prague Red Devils in their first regional matchup on Thursday, May 2 at 1:00 pm at Chandler, Oklahoma.
The Red Devils come to the game with a 13 to 11 win or a 54% win ratio, compared to the Comets’ 24 and 6 record, or 80% win ratio as of April 29 with their win over the Stilwell Indians.
More on that in a moment.
The Comets are playing with confidence and tightness as a team, so regional results could be very good.
If they beat Prague, they will go against the winner of the Chisholm Longhorns and Chandler Lions game at 3:00 pm on Thursday.
Chisholm comes to the regionals with a 54% win ratio and Chandler possesses a 65% win rate, compared to Kansas’ 80% rate of winning.
The Comets played a game against the Stilwell Indians who have an 84% win ratio and controlled the game from the first pitch to the last strikeout.
Kansas defeated Stilwell 7 to 5 in 6 ½ innings
The game didn’t really mean anything, since both teams were already going to the regional competition, but it kept both teams sharp in preparation.
Coach Austin Graham was overheard saying to the team at the bottom of the 4th inning “I love the physicality right now, keep it up.”
If the players take that advice to heart, the post season will be sweet indeed.
