Second Chance Pet Plant Sale

Volunteers with Second Chance Pet Rescue of Grand Lake will host a plant sale from 10 a.m. to 6 p./m., Tuesday, April 16, at Trinity Baptist Church, 400 South Main, Grove.

The sale will include hanging baskets, flats, ferns, mandevilla, begonia, geraniums and other flowers.

Grove Chamber Business After Hours

The Easter Bunny will hop into the Muddy Pearl from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 19, for visits and photos with little ones.

City of Jay Easter Egg Hunt

The City of Jay's Easter egg hunt will take place at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 20, at the city park. Registration will begin at 9 a.m., with the first hunt starting at 10 a.m., and continuing approximately 15 minutes.

The hunts will begin directly after the last prize is awarded in the previous age group. Approximate times include: 0 to 2 - 10 a.m., 3 to 4 - 10:15 a.m., 5 to 6 - 10:30 a.m., and 7 to 10 - 11 a.m. Prize drawings will take place at the end of each hunt.

Grove Easter Egg Hunt

Members of Group 33 Motorcycle Club and the Grove Ministerial Alliance will host an Easter Egg Hunt at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 21, at the Grove Sports Complex, 13th and Shundi in Grove.

The event is geared for students 1-year thru 12-years-old. Students will be divided into age appropriate groupings. The hunt starts right at 2 p.m., sharp. Children need to be in place by 1:45 p.m.

Big Vision Day

Officials with the Grove Area Chamber of Commerce, along with Higher Vision and AAA Business Solutions, are hosting a “Big Vision” day from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday, April 23, at Ferra Aerospace, 64353 E. 290 Road, Grove.

Spring Fling at Produce & Posies

Officials with Produce & Posies will host a spring fling from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, May 4, at the garden 13941 East 380 Road, Jay.

AARP Driver Safety Program

Local classes for the AARP Driver Safety Program will take place once a month, now until December. The one-day course is six hours in length. Drivers will be able to obtain a discount from their insurance carriers for taking the course.

The classes are open to all interested drivers, including those who have taken it in the past. Upcoming class dates are Wednesday, May 8, Aug. 28, Sept. 11, Oct. 23, and Nov. 19; and Saturday, June 15 and Dec. 14.

Barkaritaville returns to Grove

The Fourth Annual Barkaritaville, to benefit the Second Chance Pet Rescue of Grand Lake, will take place from 5:30 to 9 p.m., Saturday, May 18, at the Honey Creek Landing and Marina, located next to Honey Creek Bridge.

The event will include a “cheeseburgers in paradise” dinner hosted by the staff of The Parrot Steakhouse and Grill, live music and a charity auction. A rain date has been set for Saturday, June 8.

Grand Lake Youth Art Show

The annual Grand Lake Youth Art Show will take place Friday to Sunday, April 26 to 28, at the Grove Community Center.

The show will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday. Refreshments will be served from 2 to 6 p.m., on Saturday.

The event is sponsored by members of the Grove Springs Cultural District, the Brush and Palette Art Gallery, in partnership with Grand Lake area schools and businesses.

Toes in Grand Summer Kickoff Festival

Officials with the Grove Area Chamber of Commerce and the Grove Convention and Tourism Bureau will host the second "Toes in Grand" Summer Kickoff Festival, on Friday, May 31 and Saturday, June 1, at Wolf Creek Park in Grove.

The event will feature performances by Greg Dragoo and the Blond Stranger Band on Friday, and The COPA Reefer Band and Parrotville on Saturday.

Saturday evening will include a fireworks show. Other items will be announced closer to the festival dates.

Grove Rotary LobsterFest

The annual Grove Rotary LobsterFest will take place at 5:30 p.m., Friday, June 21, at the Grove Civic Center, 1702 South Main, Grove.

Tickets are $80 and must be purchased in advance. Only 575 tickets are available for the event, which includes a silent and live auction.

Proceeds from ticket sales benefit the annual Rotary Foundation grants.

Tickets will be on sale later this spring, for individuals and preferred tables with servers for 10 for $1,000. Tickets are available at and at area banks.

Bingo at the American Legion

Members of Grove’s American Legion Qualate-Pritchard Post 178 will begin hosting bingo at 6 p.m., on Saturdays, at the American Legion building located at 114 Broadway at the corner of O'Daniel Parkway and Broadway.

The family-friendly event is open to people of all ages. It will be smoke, alcohol and drug free. A concession will be available with soda, water, tea, coffee, popcorn, nachos, chips, candy bars and other snacks.

Payouts will be in cash, with the prize amounts depending upon the number of packets being played. Participants are asked to arrive early to purchase packets as bingo will start promptly at 6 p.m.
