Grove's tennis team placed first in a tough tournament on Friday, April 4 at Henryetta.
The team beat Henryetta who won the 4A classic in Oklahoma City a week earlier and a private school 5A power in Riverfield who was the 5A runner up last year. Grove edged Riverfield one point and Henryetta by 6.
Both doubles teams placed first and 1 singles placed second and 2 singles third.
"This was definitely our best showing as a team because of the level of competition there," said Coach Todd Kerr.
Kenny Wright placed second in one singles by beating Henryetta, Bixby and losing to Riverfield in the finals which was his first loss of the year.
The one doubles team of Mason Allen and Braden Wadley stayed undefeated by beating Okmulgee, Henryetta and Riverfield.
Silas Rosiere placed third in 2 singles by beating Bixby, losing to Riverfield and beating Wagoner for third.
The two doubles team of Collin Rowton and Lincoln Wright placed first by beating Seminole, Riverfield and Henryetta. They came through in the last match of the day and beat an undefeated Henryetta doubles
