Betty G. Fredrick, age 91, of Grove, Oklahoma passed away on March 30, 2019 surrounded by her family at Grove Nursing Center.
Betty was born on July 7, 1927 to Maurice and Grace (Williams) Foley in Southbend, Indiana, where she grew up and attended school.
On April 2, 1945 Betty married the love of her life, Ernest Fredrick, in Los Angeles, California where the couple made their home. She was a devoted wife and mother to seven children.
The couple later relocated to Tahlequah, Oklahoma where Betty worked as a Lab and X-Ray technician at Tahlequah City Hospital for many years. She and Ernest lived in many different places over the years, including California, Hawaii, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Nevada.
A strong, hardworking and an independent woman, Betty had the sweetest disposition and was adored by all her who knew her. She was proud of her Irish heritage and an avid Notre Dame and Oklahoma Sooners fan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother and one son, John.
Left to cherish Betty’s memory: children, James Fredrick and wife, Lynn of Oak Park, Illinois, Karen Phelps and husband, Claude of Grove, Oklahoma, Michael Fredrick and wife, Bonnie of Berryville, Arkansas, Bonita Jennings of VanBuren, Arkansas, Robert Fredrick and wife, Tracey of Shelton, Washington and Scott Fredrick and wife, Peggy of Grove, Oklahoma, 13 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Nichols-Stephens Funeral Chapel. Private family burial will be at Ft Gibson National Cemetery at a later date.
