The Grove School Board approved revising the school’s tobacco policy during the Tuesday, March 12 meeting.

Superintendent Pat Dodson explained the Tobacco Litigation Settlement lawsuit provides smoking cessation programs and the revised policies added language to reflect the change.

Dodson also pointed out during the meeting the school nurse does not administer medical marijuana or CDB oil.

In employment matters, the board hired Robin Sievert to fill a 6-hour cafeteria cook position. The board also approved reemploying the certified tenured staff, the part-time certified retired staff on a temporary contracts, and the non-tenured certified staff.

“The non-tenured certified staff are teachers with less than three years’ experience,” Dodson said.

In other matters the board approved an audit contract and engagement letter for auditing services. Dodson said the auditing fees increased $350 from the previous year.
