Dennis “Denny” D. Kitt, age 84, of Grove, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at his home.
Denny was born on January 11, 1935 to Ervin and Mamie (Nordby) Kitt in Butterfield, Minnesota, where he grew up and attended high school. In 1952, Denny joined the U.S. Air Force and proudly served during the Korean War.
On August 19, 1955 Denny married the love of his of life, Mary Jane Means, and the couple made their home in Riverside, California. Drawing from his time in the Air Force, Denny became an aircraft assembler for Rohr Aircraft, where he worked for 38 years. During the Kuwait War, Denny was flown to Kuwait to teach the military how to repair and assemble their own jets on base.
Denny and his wife moved to Grove in 2007, where Denny was a volunteer at Lendonwood Gardens as the brush pile burner and pump maintainer. He loved having the garden “in his backyard”. He was a loyal member of the NRA and a tractor enthusiasts.
Denny was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Mary Jane Kitt and five siblings.
Left to cherish his memory: daughters, Kathy Jenkins and husband, Jeff of Harland, Iowa and Charlene Tune and husband, John of Grove, Oklahoma, grandsons: Billy Jenkins, Bobby Joe Tune and John Tune and three great grandchildren.
Private burial is planned at a later date.
