Shawnee police say they are still investigating a double fatality crash that occurred Jan. 26 along 45th Street at Aydelotte.

Shawnee Police Cpl. Vivian Lozano-Stafford said the investigation into the accident is ongoing, but once that probe and final reports are completed, which could take several weeks, they will be turned over to the district attorney's office for review.

Shawnee police previously released the initial report in that accident.

Two vehicles — a Ford Mustang and a Honda Accord — were involved in the crash. Two Tecumseh High School students, Logan Deardorff, 18, and Shelby D. Johnson, 17, were occupants of the Ford Mustang and died from injuries relating to the crash.

The Honda Accord was driven by Roger D. Flint, 61, of Shawnee. At last check earlier this month, he was no longer a patient at OU Medical Center after a previous reports there listed him as being in good condition.

The two-vehicle crash occurred about 5:11 p.m. Jan. 26. Both vehicles were eastbound, with the report indicating Flint’s Honda rear-ended the Ford Mustang.

According to the initial report, witnesses to the accident told police that Flint’s Honda ran off the road multiple times before the accident occurred and also was traveling at a high rate of speed. The driver’s condition at the time of the accident is listed on the report as being unknown; the investigation continues.
