The Delaware County commissioners and Sheriff Harlan Moore discussed during the Monday, Feb. 5 meeting purchasing new vehicles for the sheriff’s department.
Moore said he would like a letter of commitment from the commissioners to replace several cars before they reach the 80,000-mile mark.
A new vehicle with no trade-in is around $33,593, he said. But a vehicle under 80,000 miles has a trade in value of $10,000.
David Poindexter, commissioner chairman said they would have to look at finances before providing a letter of commitment.
In financial business, the commissioners approved to advertise for sealed bids for the purchase of a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) equipment for the Tiff City Volunteer Fire Department.
The commissioners also approved a Borrow Permit agreement with Jack Simmons to obtain material from property located near County Road 627 in District No. 3 and a Utility Permit for road bore on Brush Creek Road at the request of Rural Water District No. 1.
Also approved was the Court Clerk officers. They are: Karma Sapp, Ashley Jackson, Caroline M. Weaver and Veronica Short, Requisitioning; Brandy Johnson, Pam Shotpouch, Kami Davis and Julie Hutchison, Receiving; and Caroline M. Weaver and Pam Shotpouch, Inventory.
The commissioners approved two resolutions disposing of a truck 3100-gallon stainless steel tank, portable LCD Projector, Canon IR5050 Digital Copier, HP Pavillion P7-1003 W Desktop Computer and Gateway Laptop M460E.
In other business, the commissioners approved sending to the District Attorney a foreclosure action, Flint Ridge Property Owners Association, Inc., Plaintiff, vs. Tamie Presley, Et Al., Defendants; Case No. CS-2019-19 and approving a resolution dissolving the Rural Water, Sewer, Gas and Solid Waste Management District No. 9.
