The senior members of the Grove Varsity Wrestling team took the mats for the last time at home on Tuesday, Feb. 5 when they faced the Bishop Kelly Comets of Tulsa.

Before the dual, senior athletes and their parents were recognized before their home crowd.

The class of 2019 includes: Cameron Haling, Derek Hardy, Taylor Heard, Garrett Messimore, Haven Pennington, Logan Spurgeon and Dawson Tanner.

The Ridgerunners took down the Comets 48-21, ending their regular season with a big win in front of family, friends, and fans.

The varsity team will travel to Shawnee this weekend to compete at Dual State for the first time since 2013.

They will compete in the Regional Tournament the weekend of Feb. 15 and 16 where the top four places in each weight class will earn a bid to the State Championship tournament in OKC, Feb. 22 and 23.

The Grove Wrestling Booster Club, Inc. would like to thank their corporate sponsors this season, First National Bank, Bank of Oklahoma, Arvest Bank, Grand Savings Bank and Bank of Grand Lake.

Their support helped purchase equipment as well as cover the cost of hotels, transportation and food for the season for both the Junior High and Varsity teams.
