Neomia June West, 85, lifelong resident of Grove, passed away at her home on Monday, Jan. 7, 2019.

She was born on Aug. 19, 1933 to Thomas and Hester (Hart) Holloway, where she grew up and graduated from Grove Schools in 1951.

In her earlier years Neomia worked as a waitress at Starr’s Café in Grove and most recently worked at the bakery in Grove Walmart.

She enjoyed fishing and frequently went commercial fishing with her husband John Chester West.

Neomia cherished her family and was a great cook. She loved serving them unforgettable meals over the years. She was loving, selfless, outspoken but had a heart of gold. Some of her interests were family gatherings, square dancing and playing cards.

Neomia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 26 years; her son Chuck West; sisters Lillian, Betty, Bonnie, Virginia and Carolyn; and a great-granddaughter Lilian Grace Whitten.

She is survived by her daughters: Johnie Fox of Grove, Robin Johnson and husband, Leslie, of Grove and daughter-in-law Tammy West of Southwest City, Missouri; sisters: Sharon Tomlin of Claremore, Janie Jones of Grove and Linda Robison of Claremore; grandchildren Melissa West Haling, John Hardy, Michael and Chrissy Whitten, Beau and Sarah Fields, Leslie and Kyle Hall, Benjamin and Marissa West; and great-grandchildren: Drew, Dalton, and Derek Hardy, Cameron, Parker and Wyatt Haling, Piper and Daphne Whitten, Benjamin West Jr., Ellie Fields and Elliot and Lincoln Hall.

Memorial services are set for 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 12, at Nichols-Stephens Funeral Chapel, Grove, with Pastor Russell Briscoe and Chaplain Mark Lavine officiating.
