Donald E. Spencer, 69, of Grove went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018, in Tulsa.
He was born on Nov. 28, 1948, in Bemidji, Minnesota to Valeria (Spicer) and Donald L. Spencer.
He grew up in the San Diego, California area. He worked in the transportation industry for many years, often serving as a driver for celebrities such as Willie Nelson and Diana Ross.
He married Diane Cantrell on Jan. 27, 1972 in Chino, California. The couple lived most of their marriage in the South Lake Tahoe area. They moved to Grove nine years ago following his retirement.
He loved to golf, fish and travel. HE was a big storyteller and joker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Bill, and one grandson Adam.
Survivors include his wife, Diane; three children: Kimberly Spencer of Garderville, Nevada, Brad Spencer and wife, Lena, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Brandon Spencer, Salt Lake City Utah; six grandchildren: Austin, Jordan, Brooke, Alex, Eva and Miles; and three sisters: Gerri Peterson and husband, Richard, and Connie Veling and husband, Joe, all of San Diego, California, and Nancy Kennedy.
A private family memorial service will take place later this summer in South Lake Tahoe.
