Volunteers from the Second Chance Pet Rescue in Grove are gearing up for the organization's annual Christmas Breakfast and Holiday Dessert Auction set for this Saturday, Dec. 8, in Grove.
The event takes place from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m., at the Grove Civic Center, 104 West Third, Grove.
For a donation of $7 per person, participants can partake in a country-style breakfast of sausage, eggs and more.
The holiday dessert auction, a highlight of the event, will begin promptly at 9 a.m. It will include holiday desserts from local restaurants and celebrity bakers.
Once again, David Barber of Butler Creek Auction Gallery, will conduct the auction.
Participants should plan on doing some Christmas shopping as well at the Second Chance Thrift Shop's Christmas Bazaar - with all Christmas merchandise at bargain prices.
Proceeds from the event benefit the homeless animals at the Second Chance Pet Rescue shelter in Grove.
Advance breakfast tickets may be purchased from the staff at the Second Chance Thrift Shop at 220 East Third, Grove; at the Second Chance Pet Rescue shelter located two miles east of downtown Grove on Highway 10; or online via our website www.doitforthepets.com.
Tickets will also be available the morning of the breakfast at the Grove Community Center.
Monetary donations help save the lives of the homeless animals in the Grand Lake area. Lisa Boston serves as the new manager of the shelter.
Persons unable to attend the breakfast/dessert auction, who wish to help the organization may mail a tax-deductible donation to P.O. Box 451205, Grove, OK 74345 or donate online via www.doitforthepets.com.
