The Jay City Council hired two part-time EMTs for the city’s Emergency Medical Services at the Sept. 4 meeting.
The council voted 3-0 to hire Adam Murphy and Brent Suter at $8.24 an hour. Council members Joanna Neal, Danny Price and Dwaine Ellis voted in favor of the new hires. Kyle Stump was not at the meeting.
In financial business, the council accepted a $15,100 bid for the property known as the city dump by a 3-0 vote.
The council also approved a bid from Bingham Heat and Air for $3,400 for an air conditioning unit for the Jay Senior Center.
The board also approved by a 3-0 vote to hold the fall clean-up days on Oct. 15 to 17 with the expenses associated not to exceed #$3,000.
In the Jay Utilities Authority, they approved changed David Brewster to part time to 20 hours a week and anything over 20 hours must be preapproved by the mayor.
