The Grove School Board will vote this week to consider changing the school’s calendar making the last day of school May 15.
The meeting will take place at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 11 at the Grove Administration Building located on 210 S. Broadway in Grove.
The other changes to the school calendar if approved will see Nov. 6 and May 16 as professional days and Jan. 2 as a day off.
The board will also vote to modifying Superintendent Pat Dodson’s employment contract.
The raise to Dodson’s contract is equivalent to the state raise given to all certified staff.
The board will also vote whether to approve giving the school’s support manager a raise. This is also equivalent to the state raise given to all support staff.
In other personnel matters the board will approve leave for part-time retirees employed by the district.
The board will vote to approve extra duty for the Lower Elementary technology coordinator, sophomore class sponsor and two upper elementary yearbook co-sponsors.
Compensation for a Certified Special Education teacher for work done during her planning period will be voted on and hiring a long-term certified substitute teacher and paraprofessional.
Other positions to be filled are an eight-hour cook, head mechanic and transferring the positions of high school attendance clerk and supervisor’s positions and night custodian to night watchman.

• Appropriate Math, Science and Computer credit for graduation requirements for students enrolled in the Technology Center in Afton.
• The Career and Technology Education Programs.
• The Alternative Education Plan.
• Negotiations with GCTA and GESP groups.
•Resident Teacher and Textbook Committees.
• Activity Fund accounts and their purposes.
• Officiating schedule and pay schedule
